Arrival in Guthrie

We arrived in Guthrie the day I took these photos (8/3/10). The first is a photo of the house where my dad grew up and the second is the gas station near our hotel. My sister pointed out the sign and we got a good laugh. If you look closely, you'll see it says, "Lashawnda Williams U Need to Come Pay Me."

Pretty Cloud Formations

When I go "home" (i.e. to Bonita), I tend to go crazy over kitty photos. They're so fun to follow around and capture on "film." Today's photos are a bit of a break from the cat photos...I took these photos over the course of 6 minutes. It always amazes me how fast the colors in the sky change around sunset!

Photo Frenzy

Today is another multi-photo day. In fact, I have quite a few today. I don't feel too bad since I went for so long without posting any photos. Enjoy!

Kitty Escapades

I spent a lot of time today following the cats around and taking photos of them. I couldn't choose just one, so there are a quite a few today.

Blossom!

My mom adopted a new kitten just a week or so before my dad passed away. While I was home, I had a lot of fun taking photos of both Blossom (the new kitten) and Joelle. I also got a few shots of Sophie (my last of her). Here are the first photos I got of Blossom.

Avondale's Friendship Park

I drive by Friendship Park on a regular basis on my way to run errands, go to Borders, etc. I noticed this multi-sided mural a few times before I was prepared to stop and take photos. The light wasn't the greatest and stupid me parked in not the best spot (to avoid getting my car in the shots), but I did get some decent photos. Enjoy!

More Chicago Sights

I decided to spend lunch walking around Chicago again. This time I stayed close to the conference hotel. I ended up walking through Millennium Park and across the pedestrian bridge to get a view of Lake Michigan. I also ran into what I think was an Art Institute of Chicago project (the trees).

The last photos are of the pub next to the Palmer House. The sign caught my eye as every morning and I finally captured it today.

City Sights Around Chicago

Rather than ride the shuttle back from the conference hotel to my hotel, I decided to walk back at lunch to get some photos.  I was really intrigued by the Chicago Theater signs and spent a significant chunk of time taking photos of it from a variety of angles.  I also snapped some other shots on the way back that I've included above as well.
